Lumahai Beach can be postcard-idyllic, like nearly all of Kauai. It can, of course, turn into a place that probably ain’t the best for frolicking. Just like anywhere else, though, when you mix a few girls in tiny bikinis with a few giant waves, it’s inevitable that a few guys are going to add themselves into the recipe, and frolicking will commence, no matter how dumb it may be. Lord knows I spent most of my teenage years doing dumber things (well, maybe not quite THIS dumb) than this. That’s what being a teen is for!
Let’s look beyond the dumbness for a second, though, and appreciate the majesty of the ocean. How incredible is it that these massive explosions of whitewater, carried on the backs of waves driven thousands of miles through open ocean, even occur? Nature. That’s why we come out here.
