Meet the world's first buoyant smartphone. Yes, it floats in the water. And yes, it has a fin system.
Palo Alto start-up Comet Core promises to launch a revolutionary smartphone that is built with fins that deploy as soon as it is completely submerged in water."We developed Comet to be a phone that people could truly take anywhere. We also wanted Comet to really reflect its users' personalities, so we made it as customizable as possible. Comet is functionable, but it's also a fun phone to use," explains Raj Urs, CEO at CometCore.
Tiny fins pop up when the phone touches water. Additionally, the Android smartphone includes a border of turquoise LED lights that light up when a user receives a call or message.
Also, the Comet detects users' body temperatures and displays a particular color to indicate mood. The world's first smartphone-surfboard will cost between $300-$375 depending on whether consumers choose the 16 or 32GB option.
