Here’s a little something about Kelly Slater that you might’ve forgotten: back in the ’90s, he was in a band with Peter King and Rob Machado. It was aptly called The Surfers, and they were surprisingly good. Not good enough to get mega-famous outside of surfing, but good enough for quite a few people to actually want to listen.
Here’s another little thing about Kelly Slater. He’s pretty tight with Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder. That’s why, a few days ago, they sat on stage together and played a song everyone loves called Indifference. They were playing for the Ohana Luau Charity Gala in Dana Point, an event that benefitted the San Onofre Parks Foundation. The night was a smashing success, and so was Kelly’s performance.
