Inventor of countless foundational tricks in the sport, including the ollie, the kickflip, the heelflip, and the 360 flip. Member of the canonical Bones Brigade. Rodney Mullen’s achievements and influence are nearly immeasurable. And that’s just in skateboarding. He’s also a public speaker, an inventor and an entrepreneur.
With all that Mullen has contributed to the world, it’s been over a decade since his last true video part. It’s only fitting that breaking that 10 year silence would break a few additional barriers as well. In his newest video edit “Liminal”, released today by Vogue, Rodney worked with acclaimed photographer Steven Sebring to create a short skate film unlike any other, in my opinion. It circles Rodney as he lands some of the most insanely technical stationary tricks we’ve ever seen from him and is incredible viewing.
