This Is the Biggest Wave in the World

It's been described as the world's biggest wave but you won't find this one in the sea. It's a cloud that sits at 600m of altitude and it even has its own name – Morning Glory. It's 1,000km long and renowned for its turbulence and unpredictable conditions. But for hang-glider pilot Jon Durand it just had to be flown.

It was five years ago now that the Australian athlete covered 100km of the unique phenomenon. But as the video from our archives shows, the achievement has lost none of its wow factor.
