What tens, hundreds and even thousands of Swiss people have always dreamed of will come true: by 2020 they will be able to surf in their own country. According to a study, there are nearly 40,000 Swiss surfers, making Switzerland the country with the highest rate of surfers per capita.
The Alaïa Chalet, a sports action complex (for BMX, MTB, Skate, Freeski, Snowboard, Wake, etc.), has announced that it will also have the Alaïa Wave, a wave pool equipped with The Cove technology developed by Wavegarden.
Alaïa Chalet will open its doors in 2018 in Sion, near Crans-Montana and surrounded by the Swiss Alps, but it will take until 2020 for the artificial wave.
