Dude just absolutely stomped it. In the final run of the day, and sitting at the back of the pack, Shaun White threw down what he called the “best run of his career.” And the Olympic judging panel at the U.S. Grand Prix of Snowmass in Colorado gave him big props for it: A perfect 100 on the halfpipe scoring scale. With the win, White secured his spot on the U.S. Olympic team for the Games next month in South Korea.
“I never say this, but I’m really proud of myself,” White said during an interview from the podium, post win. “When I was in New Zealand, I ripped my face open trying these tricks. It’s been a long recovery from that to get to this point, to try to make the team, and just to get rewarded for that run. I really feel like I put it down.”
