Trinity Board Sport has announced the development of a side cut surfboard.

The company from San Sebastian, in the Basque Country, believes that their Parabolic Rail System (PRS) technology increases speed, flotation, maneuverability, and stability. As a result, you get a very unconventional surfboard.
"The idea came in 2010. Grant Strover and I spoke on the beach in Biarritz about how carving technology had revolutionized the world of skiing and how these same hydrodynamic principles could be perfectly applied to surfing," explains Eduardo Cenzano, founder of Trinity.
"The models offer advantages for all levels: beginners benefit from easier paddling and take-off; intermediate riders progress faster thanks to greater stability and the ability to catch more waves. For advanced surfers, you get added speed and harder turns that lead to more radical maneuvers."

The new hydrodynamic surfboard shape attracted several shapers and brands. Firewire, Starboard, and PRZ Surfboards have already developed their own side cut models using PRS technology.
Trinity Board Sport is licensing the parabolic edges formula to independent manufacturers, and surfboard brands, but now it will also be available to individual customers.
"The process is very simple: the customer buys a license and Trinity contacts him for necessary data - height, weight, surf level, type of waves. We then prepare a fully customized shape which is sent to the local shaper chosen by the customer. If the surfer does not know a shaper, Trinity will recommend the closest geolocated shapers," adds Eduardo Cenzano.
" With this process, the brand ensures that the cost of the board does not increase with the shipping costs, it minimizes the carbon footprint, and establishes a business model in which all members of the community benefit."
