For Kelly Slater, it seems as though he’s been wrestling with the idea of walking away for quite some time. And today, he announced via Instagram that he’s looking down the barrel of what will be his last year on tour.
Kelly Slater, who made his first appearance on tour in 1990 and has since won eleven world titles, will not only go down as the greatest competitive surfer of all time, but as one of the most dominant athletes as well. We are confident that the end of Kelly’s career on tour will only mark the beginning of what will be one of the most entertaining sprees of freesurfing to date.
