Professional surfer Jo Dennison has had the privilege to ride the first ever wave pumped at Surf Snowdonia, in Conwy Valley, Wales.

Europe's first public surf pool is finally filled with water, and the initial surfing trials took place on the 14th July 2015. The team behind Surf Snowdonia won't forget this day.
After thirteen months of works, it's time to turn the wave machine on. Tech specialists confirm that wave power of up to 50% was achieved, but the Wavegarden system has to be gently "run in" before 100% power is reached.
"It's important to note that this was slow testing of the machinery; fine tuning of the wave is underway and the two-meter barreling wave, with the 1.2-meter by its side will be here soon!" explain Surf Snowdonia.
The official opening of Surf Snowdonia takes place on August 1st, 2015. The artificial wave lagoon is expected to bring 75,000 visitors to the Conwy Valley.
