Over 100 kids have participated in the 14th Annual Irons Brothers Pine Trees Classic, in Hanalei Bay, in Kauai, Hawaii.
The event is held in Pine Trees, a spot with a special meaning for the Irons family. Brothers Andy and Bruce have had their first contact with surfing at this long right and left-hand beach break. In 2015, a new generation has hit the surf at Pine Trees."This is a great day for the community and for the kids to come out and have fun. Today is the day I've been waiting for since he [Axel Irons] was born," revealed Dannielle Tache, mother of Andy and Bruce.
Bruce Irons took his four-year-old nephew to the waves, as spectators shed a few tears and celebrated the magic moment. The Pine Trees Classic is certainly alive and ready for the upcoming generations.
"The reason that we put this thing on was to give back to Pine Trees and Hanalei. This is our training grounds. Me and my brother would surf here every day, no matter what," added Bruce Irons.
In the end, everyone rejoiced. The older surfers took their prizes and awards, and groms began their quest to become the world's best surfers.
