And yet again, John John Florence only needs one wave in a 3 and half minute edit to prove he’s one of the greatest showmen to surf backside at Pipe. “The biggest barrel you’ll ever get will be backside,” says John. “You’ll be paddling in, too. Because most of the waves you paddle into backside you’d never make them frontside. You’re able to compact down to your board, grab your rail if needed, drag at the bottom and take a higher line if you need.”
