MANILA BAY RAVAGED WITH GARBAGE

Sorry to put a damper on your weekend, but these pictures of Filipino students taking waves of plastic waste in their faces as they try to clean up Manila Bay is really the straw that breaks the camel's back.

But if the swell makes these images spectacular and speaks to the surfers that we are, basically nothing really new. This summer Kelly Slater was outraged at a similar scene in the Dominican Republic.

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?


Until solutions such as plastic-eating worms and bacteria, or rafts and other cleaning buoys have been proven, it is still up to men to take responsibility.
