Tragic! Tragic! Last Saturday, a 26-year-old man from the town of Revere, Massachusetts, died as a result of a shark attack. The man was bodyboarding with a friend on Newcomb Hollow beach when he was attacked. Immediately transferred to the emergency room, the man died Saturday at the end of the day.
When questioned by the New York Post, Joe Booth, a local fisherman, said he was the person who shouted "Shark! "as soon as he sees the scene. According to him, the victim made several attempts to repel the shark by hitting it several times.

The beach was immediately closed and will remain closed until the local authorities decide to reopen it. "Today[Saturday], we keep everyone out of the water," said Wellfleet Police Lieutenant Michael Hurley. "The city will then determine what it will do later."

The number of sharks observed in the Cape Cod area has recently increased, leading to the occasional closure of some beaches. However, attacks remain rare in this region. What happened on Saturday was the first deadly shark attack in the region in more than 80 years. The last recorded one was in 1936 when a 16-year-old teenager lost his life.

All our thoughts go out to the victim's loved ones.
