When the Billabong Pipe Masters sounds the starting horn, John John Florence is going to be the one with the target on his back. The world champ’s got the yellow jersey, is one of the best ever at Pipeline, and recently dropped out of Sunset event to give all his attention to the beloved wave in his backyard.
“It was a difficult decision for me,” said Florence said in a statement. “As much as I enjoy competing at home, I want to fully prepare for and focus on the Pipe Masters.”
