When it comes to left-hand barrels, Skeleton Bay and Desert Point stand out. I thought it was pretty cool to look at two of the best lefts in the world pitted up against each other. For the last few years, Jonathan Gubbins has been chasing swells that focus on some of the best tubes in the world–Tahiti, Africa, Indonesia… if there’s a world-class wave with a really long barrel, Gubbins wants to surf it.
“Been chasing swells to both of these locations for the last couple years and stoked to finally score them both!” he said. “Hard to say which one is better, both are incredible, long fast peeling barrels. Definitely had some of the best barrels of my life so far in this edit.”
