Surfers from Western Australia are a different breed. Maybe it’s the strange amount of radically terrifying waves. Maybe it’s that sense of Australian machismo. Maybe it’s the beer. Whatever it is, it’s working.
Back in July, Kerby Brown, a man who hails from Ocean Beach, Western Australia, tried his luck at what might be the scariest wave on earth: The Right. After a little bit of a skirmish with a step in the face, Kerby slips off and quickly becomes one with the lip. MySurf.TV and Lachlan McKinnon happened to be on hand to catch the carnage, and now it’s an entry in the TAG Heuer Wipeout of the Year category of the 2017 WSL Big Wave Awards.
