Just to the east of Australia lies the Coral Sea, an area so full of beauty it’s hard to believe. Islands and reefs dot the area, but only one of the islands is inhabited.
Recently, Rob Machado, Mick Fanning, Kai Otton, and Mikala Jones ended up there on a REEF trip and they were excited, to say the least. “It’s not that often that you get to go on a trip with three amazing surfers to a place that all of us have never been,” wrote Machado on the REEF blog. “It’s almost as if we were all taken back to being total groms again… flying in with our faces smashed up against the window looking for any signs of surf… ‘check this out over here!! Wait.. what!! There are waves on both sides of the island!!'”
After meeting up with a crew of locals–who told them the wheres and the whens of the mystery island–they surfed every single day, surrounded in beauty, friends, and perfect waves.
