In 2015, Ben Moon shared a heartfelt and personal story about saying goodbye to his best friend. Calling it “touching” is an understatement.
His latest project is pretty darn good too.
During the 2015 Major League Baseball season, pitcher Daniel Norris acquired one of Moon’s camera lenses. Now the 23-year old is the subject of Offseason, a short film about the young man’s unique offseason and off field life. In April of 2015 Norris was diagnosed with cancer. He delayed treatment so he could continue playing that season and finally had surgery to remove the malignant growth from his thyroid once the season was over. By October he announced he was cancer free. That same offseason, Norris – who was already known to live off $800 a month – jumped in his VW bus with Ben Moon and drove from Tenessee to Oregon. Needless to say, Daniel Norris has packed a lot of life experience into his 23 years, from up and down with his first love, baseball, to fighting cancer and to taking a little bit of time during the offseason to drive slow and stop for a good surf every now and then.
