Tidal bores are funny things. Almost mythological, these seasonal beasts are typically known for the destruction they often bring to communities along the banks of the river. To surfers, though, tidal bores offer the opportunity to surf an actual (not static) river wave of consequence for hundreds of yards.
Here Serginho Laus, Everaldo Teixeira, Masatoshi Ohno, and Anthony Coles learn that taming a wild bore on the Ganges in India may be more difficult than they originally anticipated. One of the most polluted rivers in the world, surfing the Ganges is bound to be an experience and potentially hazardous. Apparently you may even see a dead body.
