An Austrian company developed a portable water sports jet engine. The ScubaJet can be used to propel stand up paddleboards (SUP), dinghies, canoes, and even scuba divers.

They call it the "world's lightest electric engine with different adapter systems" for multiple water sports. In no more than 10 seconds, ScubaJet will boost your craft using a small, rechargeable 3.1 kW electric motor.
"The power unit is completely emission-free and barely audible, so you can use it on protected waters without ruining the peace and quiet. The handling is pretty easy to explain, and no technical skills are needed," explains Patrizia Giovanniello, founder of ScubaJet.
With its automatic shut-off system, the ScubaJet will stop immediately if you wipe out or fall off the board. If you need to start, stop, or change the engine speed, you just need to use the water-resistant remote control.
The device weighs 2.4 kilograms, and measures 81 centimeters (31 inches) width, 25 centimeters (10 inches). It fits in a backpack and has a battery life up to 1.5 hours.
In the near future, ScubaJet will expand the number of adapters for existing fin systems, and other water craft standards. At the moment, the company is already marketing 20 different adapters from leading manufacturers.
