"The Shallows," a film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, unveils the ultimate surfing nightmare: shark attacks.
Blake Lively plays Nancy, a surfer who is enjoying perfect waves somewhere on a secluded surf spot. There is only one small problem - she is surfing in shark-infested waters.
When the star is attacked and injured by the predator, she is left stranded on a rock 200 yards (182 meters) from the beach. Will Nancy survive? How can she make it to the shore? Is it worth waiting for help?
The idea for the movie has been around for a while. It was originally entitled "In the Deep" but the project evolved and filming began in New South Wales, Australia, in October 2015.
You will only see three characters in this cross between "127 Hours," "Jaws" and "Gravity": Blake Lively (Nancy), Óscar Jaenada (Carlos) and Sedona Legge (Chloe).
What was once in the deep is now in the shallows. A great white shark can swim 100 yards in eight seconds. When in doubt, don't go out. The movie is released on the 24th June 2016.
