Nobody paddles on huge days at Nazaré. For a long time, the place drew the scorn of paddle-only lovers, while men like Garrett McNamara and women like Maya Gabeira went about their business catching massive, powerful waves from the end of a tow rope.
Now, though, it seems that Portugal’s most famous wave is losing a bit of that stigma… and folks are starting to paddle it more and more often. Hell, a few days ago, Brad Domke rode a skimboard there. Now when is someone going to give paddling a go when it gets as big as we know it can get?
