As he drops in, the surfer heads left and then fades right – big mistake. Soon he gets swooped up by the whitewash and tumbles straight into the rocks, which are aptly named The Widowmaker. According to Pirate FM, who supplied the shocking footage, the surfer was tended to by paramedics after the incident. They described him as “lucky to be alive.”
