We have been scoring on the East Coast for two weeks straight, which is unheard of," says photographer Ryan Mack of the results of this week's visitor, Hurricane Joaquin. "Everyone's surfed out! I've nailed so many photos in these two weeks it's unbelievable, and after all of this our sand bars are now set-up to perfection."
Joaquin kept enough of a distance to serve up waves the length of the East Coast, and while in New York was might windy for stretches, the calm times sure were a treat for the locals.
"It's been sick!" says Mack. "I'm currently headed home from Cape Cod, we chased the swell from New Jersey all the way up here. Balaram Stack came to Jersey for a week to surf, then Pat Schmidt and Tommy Ihnken joined me and we hit Long Beach in Long Island following it."
