They're fast, fun, and they're made for bodysurfing. Meet the Ecto Handplanes.

The surf industry is making a move towards a greener attitude. Transforming ideas into action is precisely what an Australian from New South Wales did after discovering the "1000 Surfboard Graveyard."
"I was researching into the sustainability of surfboards and found out there's no way to recycle them. I saw DIY projects of people making handplanes in the backyard, and o I've figured I'd git it a go. And I just had so much fun," explains Chris Anderson, inventor of the Ecto Handplanes.
The Ecto Handplanes are made from broken surfboards taken from the "1000 Surfboard Graveyard." They're light, easy to use, and hold well in hollow waves. A neoprene wrist strap makes sure one size fits all.
Ecto is a short for "ectomorph," an expression for a person with a lean and delicate body shape, like those of bodysurfers. The handplane can be used on your left or right hand.
