Will Green, a 23-year-old Floridian wakeboarder, has passed away in a water sports accident in Carters Lake, Georgia, USA.
The winner of the 2015 USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals was riding doubles with another rider, but an attempt to jump over Green ended up in tragedy, as the other rider's board hit him violently in the head. The wake champion was a devoted member of the Cohutta Springs Youth Camp where he was serving as a wakeboard instructor when the accident took place.
"Will was one of the most genuine Christian young men. We were so blessed to have him share his talents with us at Cohutta," underlined Rob Lang, director of the Cohutta Springs Youth Camp.
Last year, Will made his name known when he got third at the USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals. Until the tragic accident, and despite his impressive skills, he remained surprisingly.
Green graduated from Forest Lake Academy, an Adventist boarding high school near Orlando, Florida, in 2010. The professional wakeboarder earned a bachelor's degree in Plant Science from the University of Florida, in December 2015.
The Green Family has initiated the "Live Like Will" Fund, a scholarship to support the participation of young people in the Cohutta Springs Youth Camp.
