Where does your favorite surf company rank when it comes to working conditions? The non-profit group Behind the Barcode just released its list of top fashion labels and their corresponding ethical grade. The group rated the 210 brands looking for things like slavery, child labor and exploitive practices during the garment-making process.
Who fared well? Patagonia and Vans, but Quik and Billabong didn't do so well. Quiksilver was rated with a D+ while Billabong received a grade of C. Patagonia received an A- and VF brands Vans and Reef received a grade of B
The list comes out on the second anniversary of the fatal Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh which killed 1,100 garment workers.
