Exactly two years ago in the aftermath of another Quiksilver Pro, Kirra
fired in a fashion that had the good old boys reminiscing of the good

Trent Mitchell,
always on the lookout for a fresh angle, made the decision to drop
dollars on a helicopter. The result? An incredible link up with
Kelly Slater, who, if truth be told, wasn't too keen on the bird buzzing the lineup, and a cover of
Surfing World magazine. In Trent's own words...
"This photo was run on the cover of Surfing World, and came from the
first time I ever photographed Kelly Slater. I like the perspective the
chopper gives of tubes, you can actually see how thick the barrel at
Kirra can be in this photograph; it almost looks like a reef break."
