“Yesterday’s session was a complete surprise,” says photographer Trevor Pikhart. “I got to this spot in North LA super early in the morning to meet up with some buddies, but we got completely skunked. Everyone started heading home, thinking that the conditions were only going to get worse. I got a call from Steve Lippman to come join him for breakfast right down the street. During breakfast, he kept telling me that the conditions were going to clean up and it would start pumping. So we finished breakfast, and checked it again. The first wave we saw reeled down the sandbar and spit. Needless to say, it turned out to be a damn good day.”
