Unless you've renovated your English home lately or happen to work on the fishing boats of Portugal, you will most likely not have crossed paths with Andrew Cotton or Hugo Vau. Which is a shame, as these two hairy-chested specimens put the man into hellman, and were at it again last week taming the spectacular tubes of Mullaghmore, Ireland.

When the red spots on the Atlantic maps turned to swollen purple bruises Cotton and Vau hopped on planes to County Donegal, to intercept the swell at a spot that has perhaps been unfairly labelled as Ireland's Teahupo'o. Not quite the South Pacific's most feared left, but feared in its own way. Mullaghmore was the pick of Europe's waves and as the video shows both Cotton and Vau got what they came for, with barely a soul in sight.
