Good lord this kid can surf–and capturing his surfing on film is one of the most fun things you can do as a filmmaker. Today I just happened to be on the right piece of sand. After he cruised through his first heat at the 2017 Pipe Masters, John John walked west, down the beach to Rockpile and proceeded to tear the wave apart. Then he pulled one of the most stylish kickouts I’ve ever seen. I know, it’s just a kickout but John John even makes kickouts look insane.
