Two police officers in Victoria, Australia used a $650,000 AUS police boat to surf a hard-to-reach lefthander last week. The officers had finished training exercises at Port Phillip Bay when they reportedly motored to the break known as Quarantines, off Point Nepean National Park. The sergeant and senior constable had apparently stashed their surfboards on the counter-terrorism boat.
News reports have not verified whether the officers scored epic surf. Hopefully they did, because apparently their higher-ups weren’t amused — the cops were disciplined by their department.
A spokesperson for the department told reporters: “We are aware of an incident where two Water Police members used a boat for personal use following a training exercise…The members have been spoken to in relation to the matter and disciplinary action has been completed.”
