You probably remember Sabre Norris. A couple of months ago, after the 11-year-old’s interview with 9 News Perth went viral, it seemed as though the whole world knew her.
Here’s the story, in a nutshell: Sabre, in all her bubbling, Australian glory, was granted a wildcard in the Sydney International Pro, making her the second youngest surfer to compete in a WSL event. And while Sabre has always been this awesome, an interview on national television made the world realize it. Funnily enough, a couple of years ago when she was just nine, she landed a 540 on a skateboard and made headlines.
Included in the people who realized how awesome Sabre is was one Ellen Degeneres, who happens to look eerily similar to one Strider Wasilewski. Ellen, in all her genius, decided to get Sabre on her show, and Sabre shone like the diamond she is. Surfing needs more Sabres, doesn’t it?
