Killer whales are awesome creatures. It’s funny–depending on where you live, you either love them or are scared of them. I grew up in a place where orcas are a relatively common sight, and no one is scrambling to get out of the water when one cruises by. In California, though, there’s this strange notion that they’re dangerous to humans, although as far as I know, there’s never been an attack on a human in the wild. SeaWorld is a different story, but that’s because being stuck in a tiny pool probably ain’t too great for a wild animal’s psyche.
Anyway, like many sea creatures do, killer whales apparently love to body surf. And of course, because they live in the ocean, they are very, very good at it.
